Samsung Galaxy S3

Samsung Galaxy S3

So this is Samsung's latest offering in the mobile phone market, but what's it got to offer, and should we be trading in our iPhone to get one?

It's not a bad looking phone, looks nice to hold, and good build quality. Having a 4.8 inch display is always a bonus. But it may be a little too much to handle. Too bigger screen can be a hindrance. On the plus, movies and pictures will look stunning, if your not bothered about the size then the screen looks pretty cool.

Running Android 4.0.3 and it's quad core processor, make it something to consider, plus its packed with loads of extras, and a 8MP camera that supports 1080p HD video. One thing to note though is this feature packed phone will drain the battery significantly. Storage runs up to 64GB with a microSD slot too.

Overall its a great alternative to anyone not keen about jumping on the Apple bandwagon, but I can't see Apple owners flocking to the shops to buy this, I'm afraid the iPhone is still king.

News: Pakistan blocks Twitter

Social networking giant Twitter has been blocked by Pakistan today as their ministry of information believes inappropriate  content is being promoted on the site. The ministry is not happy about a competition on Twitter and rival Facebook asking people to post images of the Prophet Muhammad. It sees this as blasphemous.

Twitter will be unblocked as soon as the content in question is removed from the site. Nobody from Twitter was available for comment at this time.

Can Apple take over the World?

So over the past few years we've seen some ground breaking technology released from Apple, and in the coming months and years thats only going to accelerate.

From the release of the first iPhone it was clear this was going to be big. Ok when it was first released I wasn't too impressed with the spec, but i knew this was only the start.

People all over the world are now "converting" over to Apple products, their ease of use and stylistic design make them so appealing. You could say people may be jumping on the Apple bandwagon, but really I don't think this is the case. I think people really want to buy these products, and people feel proud to own them. Unlike when I owned a windows mobile product in the past, I hated it. Apple then gave me a shining light at the end of the tunnel, the iPhone 4.

But what drives people to flock to the iconic Apple Stores? Every time  you pass one of these stores their stuffed to the brim with people imagining owning the latest Mac or iPad. Maybe its clever marketing or maybe its because they make excellent products, who knows.

Apple's not without its competitors, Android phones are somewhat gaining in popularity too, and it looks like it'll be a fight to the death. But who will come out on top? People will always be loyal to their chosen platforms, and I think Apple's loyal customers or "fanboys" will stick by them through thick and thin.
